RAID Question

Hello all just wanted to ask if it makes sense to have 2 SSD's running raid 0 for speed while rendering videos, and then having 2 standard Hard Drive running in raid 1 for archiving those videos?

Thanks in advance :)

Generally, although there is some improvement, I don't recommend SSDs in raid 0. The only time you'll notice the difference is in benchmarks. Generally OS on 1st SSD, work storage on 2nd SSD, and a raid 1 hard drive is good for permanent storage.

ok, but what if your getting two ssd's anyway, it would be better to raid0 them right or is the risk not worth it?
  3. Oh, go ahead if you really want to. There is a little more risk but you'll enjoy the speed and larger size. I used to raid raptors and it was great. Good luck and have fun....
