Is this okay?

Hello,

I plan on getting a new OCZ power supply but all the newest ones are too big for my Midi-ATX-case because of the position of my GTS450. Is it okay to have the side-panel off as always and have the power supply unit outside the case. (not mounted to anything).

Or even have it on top of the chassis?

Thank you,
Nathaniel

If you are getting OCZ go for the ModX or the Fatal1ty. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

From a technical view there is no issue running the psu outside or ontop of the case, I often run my rig with the side off, downsides are no internal airflow and lots of dust picked up, why don't you pick up a decent cheap case when you get you psu, something like the Antec 300.

Whats the rest of your system and where in the world are you, might be able to rec a good deal.
