My old motherboard died and I'm looking for a new one. I have a core 2 duo cpu and ddr2 800 ram. I'm looking for a good gaming MB for socket 775 and dont have alot to spend, under 100$, the less the better.
I need at least 1 IDE connector. I'm looking at a NVIDIA nForce 750i SLI Socket 775 I found for 71$ and
Gigabyte MB GA-P45T-ES3G Core 2 Quad P45 LGA775 for 73$. Are those good? Is there better options for the money? Thanks.

I know the P45 chipset and it is a good one and I do like Gigabyte boards.

The Gigabyte is an excellent motherbaord that uses DDR3 memory, not DDR2. Have you considered selling your DDR2 memory?

It's an XFX. I read somewhere that the p45 can use ddr 2 as well.

Even though the chipset supports both, you can't install DDR2 memory in a slot designed for DDR3 memory.

If you don't want to buy DDR3 memory, then go with the XFX motherboard.
