Forum Systems : New Build Want build New PC-Mostly for Games

Word :    Username :

Hi everyone. it has been log time.

I want to build a new computer for my 2 younger brothers. The computer will be used mostly for gaming let's say 80% and maya, ae, photoshop and other general stuff like watching movie.

The problem is that there is not alot of money. The system should cost under AU$1000.
I will be buying parts from www.msy.com.au and www.ddcomputer.com.au.

I have decided on Case, HDD and Power supply and I have a graphic card and HDD from the other PC.

Processor:
MotherBoard:
RAM:
Case: Lancool PC-K62 Black
PSU: Corsair 650 HX
GPU: Nvidia 9800 GT
HDD: WD 500GB I have another one from old computer
Keyboard:
DVD ROM:

Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I'd look at pccasegear who generally have lower prices .

I refuse to even look past the first page of msy . Did they have a 12 year old on acid design their website?

First thoughts on your build are that the PSU is expensive and probably overkill
You can save $50 by getting an antec or similar PSU that will be easily good enough.

Thats extra you can put towards a better graphics card
Do you have to include windows/ monitor/keyboard/mouse in that budget?

From pccasegear:

athlon x4 640 $126
ASUS M4A88TD-V-EVO/USB3 $139
G Skill ropjaws 2 x 2 gig at 7-7-7-21 $119
Samsung F3 500 gig $50
Radeaon 5770 $179

Total$613

Add a decent 500 - 550 watt psu for less than $100

I already have windows 7. Now looking at the prices you (Outlander_04) gave me I do want to include mouse and keyboard. I already have one monitor it is 15inch, if I can get the monitor and the total cost still be under AU$1000 it would be great.

Can you please recomend an intel processor? What about i5 750/760?

If i include Nvidia GTX 480/470 which one should I get and which brand should it be.
I will give my graphic (Nvidia GTS 250) to my brothers.
I have an i7 920 processor with Asus P6T Deluxe V2. I do mostly Graphic work, like AE, Maya, Photoshop and etc.

I live in sydney. D&D computers's prices vary by 2-4 dollars which would be the same as pccasegear after the delivary cost.

Thanks

You may choose to get from MSY but their warranty policy and support sucks! At least that's the case in WA.

For your work, GTX460 1GB should suffice which can save you some money for something else. A 60GB SSD wouldn't hurt, if you can afford it.
