Hey all,

After some help from you guys and a few other forums I've bought this system..My old system is a q6600 @ 2.6ghz, 4gb ddr 2 800mhz ram with a gtx 260, the new equipment is as follows..

Intel Core i5 760 2.8GHz (Lynnfield) (Socket LGA1156) Processor

Gigabyte GA-H55M-S2 Intel H55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard

Mushkin 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800 9-9-9-24 Blackline

And....

I will OC the CPU to 3.4 or so too, though I am a noob and don't want to mess about too much. My GTX260 has 2 power cables connected to it, 2 little 6 pin things, does this new card have the same? Also, will this system be easy to build? I built my last one but I'm not very confident...

Finally, I'm guessing I'll see a good improvement in games? Stuff like Bad Company 2 and a few CPU heavy sims..Should this system give me a substantial boost?

Thanks :)

Get Tuniq TX3 or MX3 for the paste.

Get Hyper212+ for the cooler.

For the GTX460, get MSI, eVGA or Asus. Another option would be to get HD6850 as the card.

You would see some good jump. But that depends on the system that you have now. I can't see your current config!

Are these your first three links?

So basically... LGA 1156 platform with i5 760 and 4GB of memory with a GTX460 GPU. Yeah! It will be faster and should play those games with little trouble.

One word of advice on LGA 1156... There will not be any more processors made for the 1156 platform so there will be no CPU upgrade down the road. LGA 1155 (Sandy Bridge) components will be more readily available in a few weeks (some available now) for similar prices as 1156. Might be worth your time to wait just a little bit longer and see how things shape up.

EDIT: "Your first three links..." <--- You edited your original post before I hit reply...
