I formatted my USB hard drive by mistake.

One minute ago, I mistakenly formatted my USB hard drive that had saved a great numbers of photos, songs, videos and other files. I have put it aside. Is that possible to recover them all back? What should I do? Any idea will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
