Additional Comments:

Looking to build my first PC. Don't really know how to approach evaluating parts, specifically in the case of videocards and motherboards. Also, I am looking for a quality gaming mouse and headset. These don't factor into my budget, just want some suggestions.

My current PC is quite old, so any new computer will be a significant upgrade. Still, I am concerned about selecting parts myself and spending way too much for way too little.
Note: I have been reading through the stickied topics in this forum, but suggestions are helpful.
