Just wanted to ask the masses if anyone has a similar issue. I’ve started noticing a slight vibration sound coming from a recently purchased GTX460 video card. It only happens periodically, and wanted to know if anyone else has heard it. I’ve read on some forums that there could be a vibration sound coming from the ferrites used on the higher end video cards due to the amount of current that these cards draw. Apparently, the “old” technology uses coils that wrap around the core, and they vibrate when a huge amount of current passes through. The “new” technology has the coils within the core or something and that doesn’t happen.
Anyone with any knowledge of this care to share? I just want to make sure that my video card is not starting to deteriorate.
Thanks!
P/S: I'm using the Palit Sonic Platinum GTX460 1GB video card
