New Dell computer cannot detect DVD

Hello,

I just got my new Dell computer but it cannot detect the DVD drive. When I click "Computer", it doesn't show up. When I put a disck inside the drive, nothing happens. Please help!

Check if all cables are attached correctly, something might have come loose in shipping.

It sounds like it died. Good thing they are cheap.

At first I was thinking power cable but you said the drive opens so that not it.

Could be the SATA cable!
