How to set up intel raid

I have an Hp Pavilion Elite that is brand new, just set up the software from the autostart wizard. have installed a 2nd Hard Drive, same everything as the original. Want to set up as Raid 1, and select CTRL-I at boot. I identify Volume0, select Raid 1. QUESTION: If I complete this step will I loose me OS and setup? If so, how do I get it back?

As far as I can remember when I setup my RAID 1 array, setting it up does format both hard drives. You could use imaging software before you create the RAID 1 array to be able to restore your current OS, software and files.

Try Ghost which is what I would use or if your using windows 7 you can use Backup and Restore to create an image (however this isn't the most flexible backup software I have used).
