Seagate portable HDD Dropped

Hello, I dropped my HDD from about as high as your avg desktop tower height. The tower was on the floor so about 18-24 inch drop. it fell flat on the floor with a slap. the light comes on and i hear a succession of beeps then nothing. it does not show up on any pc or mac i attach it to via usb 2.0

ok to rephrase,...I am looking for anyone that may have helpful information that will allow me to gain access to the data on my broken hard drive.

try booting from a linux live CD

if that doesn't work you can spend hundreds maybe over 1000 dollars for professional recovery but I'd only do that if the info was SUPER important
