I have a Toshiba satellite w/xp Pro and I want to install windows server 2003 for a share point sandbox for development, However I want to keep xp for my media, music composing and creative work. Is that doable???

Yes, you need to install windows Server 2003 onto a separate partition than the one XP is installed on. Once installed, you should get a boot menu after turning on the laptop to choose the OS.

The other option if your laptop is a fairly good spec is to install windows server 2003 in a virtual machine in Windows XP. You can download VMware server or MS virtual PC for free.
