Will switching my motherboard wipe out my pc.

If you mean will you lose your HD data, the answer is no. You typically need to uninstall the mobo chipset drivers for the old mobo, install the new mobo and install the new mobo chipset drivers. You should still be able to access the HD data once the new mobo is installed properly.
