WD my passport 1 TB says file is locked

Hello, I keep trying to save a file to the HD even after its been on there and open it , work a little and then try to save. It keeps saying file is locked. I 've rebooted etc. Even created a brand new file then tried to save it to the HD and it says the filse is locked. I can't believe it's the file since it was new Is it the HD and why?

Is this an Office document? Open Windows Explorer, and check the box that allows you to see system and hidden files. Look for a hidden .tmp file by the same name on your Passport, and delete it.
