I am trying to choose between the following Gskill ram kits:

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

2 kits (total 8 GB) of G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL8D-4GBXM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Currently I am going towards the first ones just because they used those in the June System Builder configuration, but would like to know peoples opinions.

Also how much difference does the speed (1600, 1800 and 2000) make?

Is it better to get a faster ram kit with higher CAS or a bit slower ram with lower CAS?

The config:

Motherboard = ASRock Z68 EXTREME4 GEN3 LGA 1155
Processor = Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz
CPU Cooler = Scythe Mugen 3
Graphic card = MSI R6970 Lightning Radeon HD 6970 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1
Hard drive = SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB
Monitor = ViewSonic VX2450wm-LED Black 24"
optical Drive = Lite-On iHAS124
Case = Antec Three Hundred Illusion
PSU = CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650 V2 650W ATX12V

Usage:
Gaming - max settings at 1980x1080 for latest games and mmos.
Development - Java, Web, C++ and android.
Game Dev - Unity 3d, UDK, some Maya

The second choice is the best but it won't matter what set you choose because RAM performance has no discernible effect on gaming. By no discernible effect I mean it probably won't even be a difference of 1FPS between any set of current DDR3 RAM so you might as well get a 1333 or 1600 set with more capacity than a faster set with less capacity.

You will save otherwise wasted money by getting RAM no faster than DDR3 1600.

go with 1600 if price is good,, 1333 if price isn't so hot,, not much difference between 2 and imperceivable difference going up to top
