Any one know where I can get a larger disk drive (60 or 80MB) for my X40 ?

Thanks.

If you mean an internal disk (1.8" ), they don't exist yet. There are
rumors of a 60gb coming soon.

You can put a 2.5" disk (up to 100GB) in the X4 Ultrabase using the
Ultrabay Slim 2nd hdd adapter. You can use a USB external disk of any
capacity you want.

The x40 uses a 1.8" Hitachi disk and the largest available is 40gb.
There is a 60 gb Toshiba 1.8" disk used in some iPods but it uses a
different connector and won't fit in the x40 without modification.

Hitachi will probably have a 60gb disk soon. Whether it's worth
upgrading from 40gb to 60gb depends on individual requirements. I
don't think I'll bother. When they release an 80gb or 100gb disk in
that form factor, I'll think about upgrading.

I've been using a 60Gb hdd 7200rpm 2.5in hdd in an external USB2
enclosure for about half a year, and I love it. I even put it to the
ultimate speed test. I burnt a full data DVD from the hdd to a Plextor
712A in another USB2 enclosure and it worked at 8x.

So untill Hitachi will release an 1.8in hdd for the X40, the external
enclosure is definitely the way to go.
