DYNAMODE 2.5" and 3.5" SATA USB 3.0 Docking Station

Hey

So my computer just kept restarting and I have no disc etc to fix it. I opted to hopefully just transfer files to my laptop and took out the harddrive from my desktop comp.

I bought the docking station. There are no instructions and there is also a disc but no serial number anywhere to be seen!!!

Plugged everything in and the laptop is saying I need to format the disk in drive g before can proceed. I understand this will delete everything.

Any tips as to what might be the problems?

Use Linux live distribution, like Mint, where the drive will certainly show up. I ve been dealing with the same problem this weekend.

On My Computer it shows how much mb is free etc

On which machine are you seeing the drive in My Computer, the desktop or the laptop?
