tnx for that info.
nope i have none of the items the I7 is just what i have my eyes on, the rest are the cheap ones that I found
but i am still open for suggestion

So you want a $1000 cdn complete build, including monitor KB, mouse, that will run WoW.

I think you are better off with an AMD build here. i5-760 is possible, but you would have to compromise too much on the motherboard.

Looks like Best Direct has the prices today.

That motherboard isn't crossfire, the second PCIe slot works at x16x4. That also makes your PSU overkill.

Cheaper good HDD - Samsung Spinpoint F3

Cheaper PSU - good for a single video card

Video card - ASUS EAH5850

Much better full HD monitor - ASUS VH242H

If that's too much skip the HSF, use the stock CPU one.

For a little more money you could step up to an i5 760 and xfire board and use all the other components.better performance imo.

@proximon i'll take you up on the gigabyte, i just need to clarify what mosox is saying

@mosox, i'm sorry but you lost me at the motherboard . . . if I understood it, your saying that i cant use 2x crossfire card, but only for a single crossfire card?
or its not compatible at all with a crossfire card? if so what would you suggest for a motherboard?

i was going for safe with the psu in case that i would need another video card or even other hardware components like another HD or SSD in the future

@davconn & mosox - your saying that a 5850 is a much better choice rather that a 5770? please enlighten me a little.

@davcon - i think an i5 would give me better performance, but i'm not really sure with the msi motherboard if its realible enough i have to read up on it, i might try to push to an I5 instead but still within the 1k budget :)

so its spinpoint vs barracuda vs caviar black , from your experience which is more reliable; ofcourse with good performance.

tnx guys, just a little more and i'm done with the selection

The Gigabyte GA-880GA-UD3H doesn't have xfire but what we're saying is it would be more then adequate if you chose a good single gpu.

The 5850 is a good buy considering the price drop.It cost over $300 until recently.
Two 5770 in xfire equal the performance of one 5850.

Msi is a very reliable brand right behind Asus and Gigabyte quality wise.
Features a 3yr warranty on the mobo.

For $60 the Seagate hd is fine and on par with a Caviar Black and F3.
I don't think the new Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA3 6GB/S offers any advantage over the others.
I've read quite a few posts about buyers dissappointed with its performance.
Unfounded since they were expecting some huge improvement where there isn't one.
Sata 2 offers more then enough throughput for a mechanical drive.

(Is this a good quality)
9.99 PASTE Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound - OEM

and anymore suggestions or comments?
tnx alot

AS 5 has good performance, but it lacks in some other areas.

1. It has a cure time that is very long, 100s of hours to reach max efficiency.

2. It doesn't last as long as others.

3. It's a bit conductive and so could cause damage to parts if applied wrong.

Don't get me wrong, I have used it myself and it's long been a favorite. Tests show that a good ceramique type paste will work just as well without the drawbacks though.

I think the MX-4:
review http://www.hardwareheaven.com/reviews/986/pg1/arctic-mx-4-thermal-paste-review-introduction.html

http://ncix.com/products/?sku=55958&vpn=MX-4T-4G&manufacture=Arctic%20Cooling

Only get if you really need it though. The CM Hyper comes with a little bit of ceramique paste... I think it might be TX-2, which is good enough.

The CM 212+ comes with a quality CM paste.I used the supplied paste for my 212+ install and it's fine.
While not the best paste on the market it's above average.
Plus if you really wanted too you could get AS5 much cheaper.
http://www.bestdirect.ca/products/166491/AS5-3.5/ARCTIC%20SILVER/
It will probably yield a 2 C temp difference max.
Plus what Proximon posted about AS5 is correct info.

if thats the case then, i could probably buy the thermal compound at a later time and just use what s with the 212, especially if its a bit conductive. i can put that money for the shipping instead.
And for the other parts, are there any known incompatibilities? otherwise Im good to go.
