Tesla VS Geforce?

I'm currently looking into the differences of the latest Tesla and Geforce cards. I can't see why the Tesla's are at such a high price?

Geforce GTX 480

Chipset nVidia Geforce GTX 480
Video Memory Installed 1536MB GDDR3
Memory Interface 320-Bit
Memory Clock 3696Mhz
Core Clock 700Mhz
Shader Clock 1401Mhz
Processor Cores 480
Shader Model 5.0

Tesla C2050

Chipset: Tesla C2050
Cores: 448
Core Clock: 575 MHz
Shader Clock: 1150 MHz
Memory: 3GB
Memory Bit Rate: 384 Bit
Memory Type: GDDR5
Memory Clock: 3000 MHz

The Geforce seems to win in every aspect apart from the bit rate which is only slightly less and half the memory.

Would 2 GTX 480s in SLI be better than the Tesla for simulations? or has Tesla got things that are critical for floating point calculations?

Bit long winded sorry but thanks for reading :)
