My sata segate hardisk not booting properly at the stating of windows

not booting properly at the starting of windows xp.sometimes show the message"reboot &select proper boot device" or show"insert boot media in selected boot device & press key"

1) Make sure you do not have a CD in the CD/DVD drive when you start your PC.

2) Go into BIOS Setup & make sure the Seagate SATA hard drive is the first boot device. Change if necessary, then "Save to CMOS and Exit" (F10).

3) If it's set as the first boot device and you still get the same error, your Seagate hard drive may be starting to fail. Test it with SeaTools for DOS:

SeaTools for DOS is downloaded as an ISO file from which you must make a CD. You can do that on a working PC with IMGBurn:

When you've made the CD, boot your faulty PC from it and SeaTools will open. Choose the long/extended test.

Note: You may have to go into BIOS Setup and set the CD/DVD drive as the first boot device to make your PC boot from the SeaTools CD.
