I downloaded the latest UT2004 patch and since then I've been able to play
UT2004 without having the CD/DVD inserted in the drive. Has anyone else
experienced this?

Yup. Check out the "read-me" that came with the patch for other
changes.

know. And the no-cd was a deliberate patch fix btw. Maybe u need to spend
some 'quality time' with your pc and tweak it properly
