Intel i9 release date

Hey everyone! Just wanted to know if anyone has heard any updates about the Intel i9-six core, hyper-threading CPU RELEASE date.

I've been Googlinging that question AND ALSO searching Intel's site with no info.

Anyone have any legitimate "Inside" info?

I WANT THAT CPU! :wahoo:

There is no I9 and there never will be. Core I9 was rumor'd to be gulftown
    Jean Luc, make is so!
  2. From looking all around the internet, it seemed to me that Intel was going to change the "i7 EXTREME" to the i9--- With an LGA 1366 form-factor.

I'm still going to wait a while (3 or 4th QTR) before buying it!

I KNOW as soon as I buy it, a NEW CPU will emerge! I LOVE INTEL!!! (And hate them at the same time)
  3. the i9 was in fact the i7 980x

People just assumed that adding 2 extra cores would motivate intel to call it i9, but in fact Intel kept the i7 prefix when it released the i7-980X, later they also release the i7-970, also a 6 cores CPU.

A new CPU has already emerged ;) It's the new Sandy Bridge line which may be worth you looking into before buying anything new.
