M4A89GTD-Pro USB3 which video slot ??

Hi All
Purchased hd6870, works in blue pcie slot, but covers my pci slot for tv card, can I run in grey slot ? manual says best to use blue, will it perform as well ??

It may only run at x8 (vice x16) speeds. Regardless, the performance hit (if any), will be negligible. Essentially, your video card really can't take full advantage of the x16 data pipe and the x8 path is sufficient. At most, you could see a 5% or so difference. Not worth worrying about.

Thanks for the quick reply mate I was hoping that was the case, might run a speed test before and after the slot change
any ideas on what program to use for that ???

You can download and run one of the trial/free versions of 3dmark (just google it), but it really isn't necessary. From a user experience basis, I think will see so appreciable difference. Have fun!

I will shift the card, not worried about running 3dmark thanks for your informative advice
