I5-2500k a sound gaming investment?

I have an athlon II system and I am looking for a little more gaming power that will hopefully last me a couple years. Should the i5-2500k last a couple years as a solid gaming processor? I was thinking of pairing it with a gigabyte p67a-ud3p mobo, 4gb ddr3 1600mhz ram, and a gtx 460. Should this setup last me awhile? thank you
