1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 230M vs 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) HD 5650

I'm in the market for buying a laptop that is able to handle some of the newer games like Final Fantasy 14, so i can play in the back of class.

Ive settled on two HP laptops but they offer a very limited selection of GPU's, one is the GT 230M and the Other is the HD5650, Which of these cards would alow me to play upcoming newer games better, if at all?

Well, Mobility HD5650 is better...

would you say that it would be able to run games that require a strong GPU like Final Fantasy?

I would say yes, it would be able to play FF 14, but with lowest setting.
You need more than Mobility HD5650 to run that games with decent setting...

HD 5650M is noticeably faster than a GT 230M.
As for Final fantasy,well you can run it on low-medium settings on a resolution like 1280x1024 or lower.
