Is it safe to use HDDScan to read SMART Attributes of HDD

Is HDDScan software is good for health of HDD? I mean is it safe to use this HDDScan to read smart attributes? Please give your opinions...

Reading the SMART data is fine. That's requires accessing just a few sectors. However, if your drive has weak heads, then avoid the full surface scan.
