I have read alot of threads, about the new Sandy brigde.. but some thing tells me that this new processer is not the best if you are a hardcore gamer ?

because if not, is it not just best to buy like the i7-950 ??

I suggest you read the review on the front page and make up your own mind, however it is a very good gaming cpu ...

Since your sig tells me you already have an earlier Nehalem i7 then I would say don't waste your money on a new SB i7, as you will need a new mobo and a new cpu ... which, given the small increase you might gain would likely be a costly and pointless excercise.

Unless you can sell the old mobo and CPU to a mate and not lose any money ??

Your better off getting a fast SSD as a primary HDD or a second caviar black and going RAID0.
