Since your sig tells me you already have an earlier Nehalem i7 then I would say don't waste your money on a new SB i7, as you will need a new mobo and a new cpu ... which, given the small increase you might gain would likely be a costly and pointless excercise.
Unless you can sell the old mobo and CPU to a mate and not lose any money ??
Your better off getting a fast SSD as a primary HDD or a second caviar black and going RAID0.
