Chip: Hell No! Even the dual core AthlonII >> the previous gen Phenom a.k.a Agena/Toliman. This is before factoring the absolute monster OC headroom the AthlonII has over Agena/Toliman and efficiency/temps, yada yada

Yes definitely get DDR3 RAM, preferably with a CAS Latency of 7 (I suggest G.SKILL Ripjaws)

Get the XFX Radeon HD 5770, beautiful card

For a case I suggest the NZXT Lexa S, cheap and just amazing

HT Limitation when an AM3 socket chip is slotted in and still on PCIex16 gen 1.0/1.1 and essentially just on AM2 tech just with DDR3 slots so look to hit a cheap 'true' AM3 chipset
