case : recommendations for under £50?
mobo : Sapphire RS740G2 ATI motherboard with performance cooling fan
proc : AMD Phenom™ 8750 X3 Triple Core CPU
optical drive : recommendations for under £30?
Graphics : XFX ATI Radeon HD4650 1GB O/C
RAM : 2GB Vitesta DDR2 800MHz
Hard Drive : Same Sata 500Gb from my old computer

More about : good build idea

Mobo + RAM : Negative on both - new/fresh builds go for DDR3 platforms as the sun has gone down on DDR2 ones

Chip: Hell No! Even the dual core AthlonII >> the previous gen Phenom a.k.a Agena/Toliman. This is before factoring the absolute monster OC headroom the AthlonII has over Agena/Toliman and efficiency/temps, yada yada

Odd @ 12 quid

Yes definitely get DDR3 RAM, preferably with a CAS Latency of 7 (I suggest G.SKILL Ripjaws)

Get the XFX Radeon HD 5770, beautiful card

For a case I suggest the NZXT Lexa S, cheap and just amazing

Negative on that Foxconn AM3 A6GMV:
http://www.foxconnchannel.com/product/Motherboards/deta...
HT Limitation when an AM3 socket chip is slotted in and still on PCIex16 gen 1.0/1.1 and essentially just on AM2 tech just with DDR3 slots so look to hit a cheap 'true' AM3 chipset

760G/780LE
785G
770

U on the right track with the 1st one but 70 quid for an mATX with 2 DIMM slot is kindds steep so if u could nab this one
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/241003
looks a good buy at 55 quid/ATX
AM2+ runs on DDR2 so hit socket AM3 ^^
