Hello,
I have just purchased a 3 Tb Constellation ES2 drive .... Can I use it on my D865GBF motherboard.
Can I use as primary or must I use as slave. Whichever way which SATA port on the motherboard do I use ... SATA 0 or SATA 1
Really hope you can help

I'm sure the motherboard can use it.

You can use it however you want. there is no need for master/slave drives, it's as simple and plug it in.

read the motherboard manual for it's recommendation on what sata ports to fill up first, but typically it won't make any difference in what sata port you use.

depends on the bios of the mb if a new drive of that size will work. sata ports dont have master or slave. you want to conenct your main hard drive to sata 0 the data drive to 1. and your cd-rom to 2. most newer bios look for boot drive to be on sata port 0. if it not then you have to go into the bios under boot manager and set the drive up to be the first boot device.

You need to use a GUID Partition Table (GPT) to access the full capacity of that drive, and only newer UEFI motherboards support booting from a GPT drive.
