  1. The RAM is fine although you may be a able to get a cheaper kit that is just as good as corsair tend to be pricier. Don't bother getting the caviar black as you will not need the sata 6.0GB/s.Get the samsing f3 as it is cheaper and just as fast. Don't get AS5 as it is electrically conductive. Go with mx-2, IC7, or anything on this list that isn't silver.
  2. Couldnt decide between the 2. Its faster so ill go with it thanks! What would be the best option on that list for thermal paste? newegg doesnt sell the last option so?

edit: SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive it is
    GELID Solutions GC-Extreme Thermal Compound?
  3. The ram is fine...

The heatsink you chose is good however you need to be careful when applying the thermal compound. Because of the heatpipe direct contact, there are grooves where the pipe and the metal heatsink meet. you need to be sure these grooves are filled, while also making sure you dont use to much thermal compound.

I would personally get the western digital 640Gb sata 6gbps caviar black hard drive. Longer warranty and has the duel processor. It might be a fraction slower than the samsung, but you really arent going to notice a .2ms difference.

Since youre already spending alot, i would suggest spending a few bucks more and get at least win 7 professional 64bit. itl make things a whole lot easier when dealing with networking and whatnot.
  4. I originally was going to get a western digital 1tb caviar black. was talked out of it for the spinpoint as it is faster. for $50ish if it breaks illbuy another no worries.

Whats the the direct advantages of professional? isn't pro...premium? found it. there are 3 advantages premium doesnt offer

1)Run many Windows XP productivity programs in Windows XP Mode
    I won't ever use.

2)Connect to company networks easily and more securely with Domain Join
It is a home computer, 1 domain. auto connects never switches

3)In addition to full-system Backup and Restore found in all editions, you can back up to a home or business network.
The other computers in my home are 6-10 year old dell dim 2400's. Not worth my time/effort
  5. Newegg does have the the Shin-etsu

But honestly you are probably never going to notice the <1degree difference the thermal compounds that are on that list, so if I were you I would go with the cheapest one. I would probably get the tuniq tx-3 as it is cheaper and performs just as well.

You might also want to think about adding another fan to the heatsink in a push-pull configuration. This is the exact fan that comes with the 212 so it will be a perfect match.
