Asus Maximus III Gene what memory to buy?

Hi Everyone

I will be buying a Asus Maximus III Gene motherboard.. with a i7 2600K cpu.
Mostly using it for gaming.

I need help deciding what memory is the best bang for the buck...

Does Cas Latency and timing make a big difference?

Just pointing this out....

The Maximus III Gene MB is an LGA 1156 motherboard. 1st Gen i-series processor
The i7 2600k is an LGA 1155 CPU. 2nd Gen i-series processor.

Your CPU will not work with your Motherboard.

For RAM, these are pretty popular, high performance RAM

8GB is plenty for anything you will be doing, but if you want more you can always get a second set, RAM has gotten very inexpensive.

You won't get memory with CAS Latency 7? is it not worth it?

the lower timing RAM are definitely better, but they are very expensive. You can spend the extra money, but you won't have a noticeable difference.
