Configuring Skydrive and Backup

Hello,

I just recently upgraded to Windows 8, and I was wondering, how can I sync/use skydrive? I'm trying to find a way to link/sync my PC or a folder to it, so I can just drag and drop files to backup per say. Otherwise, how do I perform a PC backup and make sure its backed up to skydrive as well?

Also how much can I put on skydrive? How long will it stay there?

On another note, I've never done a backup before, but I expect this hard drive to die in the next year (had it for 4 years) so I want to know what to do, and what all I need to back up.

Please note, when you are uploading lots of data to your skydrive it will slow your internet speed to a crawl. Unless you have very fast internet do it during the night or when you're not using any computer on your network....

I got 25gb for free several months ago but am not sure that applies now. You can buy any amount you want and it will stay there until you delete it or don't pay for the service.
