HEY FRNS,I HAVE THE TOSHIBA LAPTOP ,MY COMPUTER DOESNT SHOW CD/DVD ICON.ALSO I TRIED UR STEPS OF DELELTING UPPER AND LOWER FILTERS,BUT THERE IS NO SUCH THING IN THAT FOLDER,PLZ RECOMND ME WITH OTHER STEPS..

Does the drive spin up when a disc is inserted, if not the drive may have died.

List the make and model of your laptop, if you have deleated the upper and lower filters from the microsoft help pages properly and it still doesn't work again this points to a drive failure.

If you have deleated them incorrectly you may have caused more problems than you originally had.
