Long beep on startup shutdown

Hello, I recently purchased an asus p8z68v-pro motherboard and when I go to start it up all I get is a long beep for about 5 seconds and then the pc shuts off. I have no idea what is causing this, I've checked all my connections.

I don't currently have a gpu connected, I have an SSD, DVDdrive, 8gb RAM 2 sticks in the recommended slots from the manual.

In the back all I have connected is power, keyboard and vga connection to the onboard gpu.

I have no idea what to do.

Is it happening when you boot or when you try to wake from sleep mode?

First time startup, it's new.

Check your mobo manual; there should be a page that lists what the long beep means (along with other errors).

There is no listing for a long beep then shut down.

There is only one continuous beep followed by two short beeps or followed by three short beeps or followed by for short beeps.

Hmmm... if noone here knows, you may have to contact Asus customer service either online or by telephone.

I had to when I got a diagnostic code that wasn't in the manual.
