My build
ASUS M4A785-M
PHENOM II X4 955
ADATA 2X2GB PC6400
HIS RADEON 4850 ICEQ4 512MB
HITACHI 500GB 7200RPM X2
SAMSUNG SYNCMASTER P2370HD

I had the computer running fine with the monitor at 1920x1080@60hz for months now, just yesterday a windows update came up with an update for my graphics card, I installed and restarted and no suddenly I cannot choos 1920x1080@60hz on 1920x1080@30hz which the monitor will not display. I have unistalled/reinstalled drivers through windows update for the graphics and monitor i also downloaded and installed CCC with no option to choose 60hz at 1080 resolution

As i said the monitor worked fine until this update and now for the life of me i cannot figure out how to go back to before that update or find a drive which supports the 60hz@1080

I have noticed that the registery does not have an entry for the Samsung monitor only the Acer monitor I replaced and my Sony and Sharp HDTVs.

I'm running my Samsung 740BF w/o installed monitor drivers, so i doubt that. Make sure that after you uninstall the GPU driver, you scan the registry and fix any errors, then install the newest drivers. And why do you install GPU drivers through Win Update?

I just let the computer install the drivers it finds, its always worked fine for me. I uninstalled and installed the drivers off the ATI website to no avail :(

You need to uninstall the Acer monitor, then you need to install the Samsung monitors drivers for Windows to recognize the monitor, then you can display the correct resolution.

I uninstalled all the drivers for all monitor and reinstalled the samsung drivers and it seems to ahve worked! Thanks
