i make a living currently using my xp p4 with 2gigs of ram. i primarily do oracle development work. but now this machine doesn't cut it with the new oracle 11g suite.
most of the discussion around high end pc's revolves around gaming... which i don't do.
can anyone suggest a motherboard/cpu/ram combination that will support compute intensive operations that require possibly as much as 12gb ram but with no emphasis on 3d rendering?
something that provides value (ie. affordable yet powerful)?
