Tom's it would be nice to see benchmarks for Motherboards equipped with PCI-E 3.0. I am contemplating whether or not build a PC right now and it would be good to know the advantage or lack there of buying Motherboards equipped with PCI-3.0 I have seen Articles regarding Multi-card setups, their bandwidths and the actual performance gains. It would be ill-advised for me to buy a PCI-E 3.0 equipped Motherboard if I currently would not benefit from them. If there articles regarding PCI-E 3.0 performance feel free to point me towards them.

Thanks,

Currently there is no benefit from PCIe 3.0

They will not be supported until Ivy Bridge Processors are released.

Using them for a GPU would be pointless because as it is it is impossible for a GPU to completely saturate PCIe 2.0 lane.

The biggest performance jump for quite a while after PCIe3 comes out is going to be with data transfer rates across the SATA bus.
