Add another stick of RAM, Windows doesn't start

At the Moment, I have a DDR2 System with 1gb of DDR2 RAM and one slot free, I decide to buy another stick because the system is being slow... but when i add it into the other slot, BIOS starts but Windows does not. BUT when I look at system information on the BIOS it displays the extra stick, so surely the slot/memory must be working... When I try the old memory on it's own it works again. I have tried a different graphics cards, and no difference... Please Help I Desperately need to fix this soon.

Can you please post more information about your system, including memory type and speed. CPU / MB / OS
