Hi everyone,

I have finally managed to save up enough money to build a very respectable gaming machine and would love your input on it.
I've built countless systems before but am curious if there are any better alternatives to anything I am listing below.
My budget is flexible for this build and I have about $300 worth of wiggle room that I can use.

So, to the parts!

So, there she is! Will be pulling the trigger this coming Wednesday so any and all suggestions or corrections
would be appreciated 10x!

Solution
Asus P8P67PRO / Deluxe or Evo and 2600k and you'll want dual channel ram kit.

This is what I would get, you could save money on the board and get the Evo or Pro but you'll have to check the individual specs to see if they work for you.

Save some money on the psu, 850w will cover you if you go sli in future.

Wow, it looks like I going SB. Those benchmarks are just insane. Any suggestions for a good SB board? EVGA has one on their site but I am a little apprehensive about that one.

Odd, I was just coming back here to link every single part you just listed, wth?
lol.

And you're right about the PSU, no real need for 1000W with my build. Overkill...

So now we swapped out the MB,PSU,CPU and ram.

I can not believe I forgot that SB was being released today.
Such a nice improvement over the I7 I listed.

I'm currently running:
AMD X2 6000
4G G.skill
Gigabyte UD3
evga 8800GT
160G sata

I'm looking to see a near night and day improvement with this new build, ya think?

It will be freakin' mindblowing

Ha, I'm hoping to get similar myself.

Still looking at the ins and outs of the PRO/EVO and Deluxe boards, not sure if I need anything above the PRO.

I think you may notice a slight difference. :D

EDIT
So it looks like you pay an extra $40 for a 16+2 power design over 12+2.
You also get a front usb3 box. http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/37974-asus-p67-sandy-bridge-motherboards-preview-3.html
Check the previous page for the Sabertooth.

I really like the Sabertooh, nice design and color scheme.
It also doesn't seem to be a "omg we have to rush out a SB board", looks like they took their time and designed a quality board, same can be said for all of them I think.
