Seagate barracuda 3TB HDD - Windows 7 64bit - Not detected?

Good day, (Please kind in mind my knowledge on this topic is quite minimal)

I purchased a Seagate barracuda 3TB HDD off Ebay with the intentions of using it as extra storage only (not for windows).

However Windows 7 does not pick up the Hard drive even in disk manager. The first time I entered disk manager the drive present there but swiftly disappeared.

Also the drive itself makes a sound somewhat like a squeaky gate when first connected so I am slightly fearful that the drive may have been damaged in transport.

Is it likey that I have to update my BIOS (vastly outdated).

Test the drive with Seagate SeaTools for Windows and it will confirm or allay your fears about it being faulty.

Sadly the drive also does not show on the test. Thus pretty much confirming my fears that the item is in fact faulty

I can only assume that the transportation has made some of the hardware come loose inside or similar. Such a shame.
