Nvidia NIC drivers or is it MS Network Adaptor????

Hello,
I am trying to fix a Compaq Presario SR1820NX desktop using XP. I cannot connect via E-NET due to an error saying "there is no Network Adaptor installed". HELP!!!! Does anyone know if this is an XP issue, or nvidia NIC driver issue?Thanx ahead of time, I'm actually a lot better at troubleshooting, oh yes a BIG BTW... I also found out there is no READABLE Restore, or back-up "D" Drive, but there are LOCKED pieces of software on that partition..... quite strange... Can ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME?????? AAAAHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh............. (that was the doppler fx of me jumping off a cliff if I can't fix these simple errors!!!)

Try updating to the latest NIC driver and see if it works.
