Laptop motherboard fault finding

Hello,
my acer 1640 doesn't work: no lights, no screen. When I plug power in laptop, there are sparks. How to fix it?

unless you have experience tracking down a bad circuit, which i bet you dont since you are asking how, just take it to an electronic repair shop. see what they will charge. get the quote in writing, and determine if its cheaper to just replace it with a new one.

You will prob end up needing to replace the motherboard which for the acer 1640 is part number LB.TAK02.001
