I want to get a NAS to backup my computers and put all my music, videos and movies onto. I am also getting a Roku,WDTV,etc for my streaming services.
I am looking at a Synology for the NAS,but am not sure how I would go about setting it up. Would this even work? Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated. If you have done something like this, let me know.
I like the interface of the Synology, but have also played around with Plex.

If you want Plex then DIY.
Get a ITX-5S case with HW RAID option, load that with WHS, and Plex
Cheaper, and expandable

Now you can watch your movie as airport in your Android/iOS if you want, while someone at home can stream media content to ANY media player you have in the house
Actually your neighbor can be stream to too, of course with your permission
