Problem with Samsung 840 Series 250GB SSD speed

Hello

I have an Acer travel mate 5742G core i5, and i bought for my friend same specifications ACER ASPIRE V3-571G with core i5, For my friend i bought Samsung 840 Series SSD 250 GB and it was so fast after installing windows7.

I bought the same SSD for my 5742G and installd windows7. I made upgrade for the firmware of my SSD and make a benchmark test and it was slower than V3-571G.

my test of 5742G was (Seq. Read 270) (Seq. Write 241)
my friend test of V3-571G was (Seq. Read 524) (Seq. Write 244)

where is the problem in my computer. is it bus speed or the SSD not good or the update of the firmware.

email acer see if the sata port on the laptops are the same..ie one could be a sata 3g the other a sata 6g port. if his is a 6g port it going to have twice the bandwith as the 3g port. make sure your laptop bios is up to date and the sata port set to achi mode not ide. make sure running the newest intel chipset drivers.

Just do a little research on your laptop. If your laptop is 3Gbps and his is 6Gbps then his will be faster. 3Gbps ports only deliver reading of about 250mbs read/write. So I would check that first for sure. Either way though, that SSD is pretty fast.

I updated the bios today and the sata port is on achi on defult and intel drivers are up to date. (The performance still the same)
I will check about the 3Gbps or 6Gbps because he have USB3 and mine is USB2.

I installed my SSD on his laptop and it age me Seq. Read 524 and his computer show sata 6Gbps.

So i have to change my laptop.
