First off, my pc specs:
AMD Phenom II x4 955 @ 3.2GHz
3Gb DDR2 800mhz RAM
Radeon HD 5770 1Gb
500 Gb HD
1680x1050 res

Ok, so im preparing my pc as much as i can for battlefield 3. So far i have what i listed above. and im planning on getting a 6870 and more ram if i need it. I play bad company 2 often. and lately ive noticed my fps go from about 70 down to 45. im thinking its my ram. Im trying to figure out if my ram is the problem. Also my fps doesnt seem to be different if i lower my res/graphic settings. maybe a 5 fps at the most.

More about : ram fps

Upgrading 5770 to 6870 will give you a huge boost in performance.
As for RAM,upgrading to 4GB will definitely help(but the effect isn't as much as adding a new faster GPU)

Get DDR3 RAM.
Get at least 4GB.
And get an AMD graphics card if you wanna save money.
Nvidia is pretty beast but expensive.
