Ok well I don't know whether to get an AMD or Intel Proccesor for my new build which will be mainly gaming but i also need it to be good at editing HD videos from my Sanyo FH1. I am on a very strict budget of around 800 - 850 AUS dollars including shipping. I live in Australia so no Newegg :( oh well. The sites i have been looking at buying from are mwave.com.au and pccasegear.com . The parts i have selected so far are:

GPU - Gigabyte GTX 460 1gb Overclocked ($249) [Twin Fans]
CPU - Suggestions?
MB - Depends on CPU
Memory - OCZ DDR3 PC3-10666 2x2GB Gold Edition ($95)
PSU - OCZ ModxStream Pro 600W ($95)
Case - Antec Two Hundred V2 ($67)
HDD - Samsung SpinPoint F3 500GB ($50)
HDMI 1.3v Male to Male 1.8m ($10) [I needed one anyway for the HD TV I am using for a monitor]
These prices are from pccasegear.com.

I was looking at the AMD Athlon II 640 3.0GHz but I heard Intel is better for editing, specially for Adobe Suite which i will be using (After Effects/Premier/Sony Vegas Pro 9). So yeah, any advice on this build?

Those are good some pretty choices. The only thing I would say "nuu" to is the ram. OCZ ram is pretty flaky these days. The best ram around the same price range is probably the Ripjaws.

A i5 750/760 build would be awesome but I don't think you can fit that into your budget.

The AMD Athlon II 640 3.0GHz would be a decent alternative too. Pickup a suitable 770 or 870 board with it.
