In case anyone has a problem recovering their files from a corrupted memory card, i would like to share what i found. my 16gb sdcard from my camera got spoilt. i tried different types of software to recover the data which included over 1000 photos i had taken. none worked..really desperate cuz i had fotos from a trip to brazil on it. i discovered a company in germany called recoverfab. they got back my data for me . apparently they physically access the memory chip in the device. so they do what software recovery wont do!.. it did cost a bit.. but the price is negotiable.. i got back my photos and videos and i am happy.. here is the site of the company incase anyone runs into "unrecoverable by software" problems and think that they have to throw away their memory card! http://recoverfab.com..

You can also go for another efficient memory card recovery software for recovering your files from a corrupted memory card, go for Recovery Fix for windows memory card recovery software for the recovery of your files. It support windows fat and ntfs file system and it can restore every file and folder from your memory card or any other storage device.

Hi,

Just wanted to say thanks for this post.
I was searching around the web after I had a physical problem with a 16GB SD card of mine - the SDcard bent physically when putting into the reader (and I shrivelled up inside, as there were my wedding pictures / videos that I was about to look at for the first time).
This post confirmed that all was not lost - I too used the recoverfab service and was able to view my photos a week after thinking they were lost for good. Thanks for this post which helped me decide to try and recover, and too the recoverfab team too - they have some videos up online about their process - amazing!

Take care, Cameron Patterson.

Bonjour,

I would also like to share my positive experience with recoverfab.com. I had similar issues with my 16GB SD card as described above. While nearing the end of my vacation in Costa Rica, my camera read "memory card error" when I turned it on and I could no longer take any photos nor view any of the photos on my camera. I checked for any physical damage and to make sure that the card wasn't in the "locked" position. I went back to the hotel, and I couldn't view the photos on my PC either. I was freaking out! My whole vacation was on there, and I took some really awesome pictures!

After returning home, I tried using recover software I downloaded online and I was not successful. I took it to a shop that also tried to retrieve the files by using recovery software and they weren't successful either. I was pretty defeated at this point, but as I was talking with the guys at the shop and they suggested that I would most likely have to turn to a company that actually physically retrieves the files, which in most cases is pretty pricey. However, they recommended recoverfab.com, they said it was the place with one of the highest success rates at recovering files and it was competitively priced. I decided to give it a shot. I contacted recoverfab, and they said I should send my card on over because there was a good chance they could help.

I have to say, I am thrilled with the result. My photos were recovered within two weeks of sending my SD card to them! It's awesome to have physical photos and not just rely on memories from my vacation. I'm super happy with the service I received at recoverfab.com and I would highly recommend them to anyone who has similar problems with their memory cards.

If anyone has a problem recovering data/files/photos from a memory card, try Recoverfab!! I had a 32 GB SD card that I took to several professional photography shops and each one told me it was blank. As a last resort, (after reading all of the positive reviews), I sent it to Recoverfab. They were extremely prompt (recovered my files one day after receiving the card), and Leopold Hiersche provides personal customer service and quickly answered all of my questions! They are great company that provides a tremendous service - even when everyone else says it is hopeless! So before you throw out a corrupt SD card, give Recoverfab a try! I highly recommend them!!

Sincerely,
Rob B.

For anyone contemplating or unsure about utilising RECOVERFAB'S data recovery service please read on. I owe Mr Leopold Hiersche a huge debt of gratitude as I was resigned to the fact that approx. 150 photos of my first newborn were gone forever. Having returned from hospital my wife discovered several missing photos when viewed through our Canon EOS7D digital camera. Not panicking yet I purchased Wondershare's Data Recovery software at an approximate cost of $40. Unsuccessful I also tried other data recovery programs with zero success. Thinking the laptop and CompactFlash card reader were playing up I left the house to run a few errands and wind down. Some 4 hours later I went to plug in my card reader and got the message I will never forget "drive not recognised...proceed with format?" Now I was really PANICKING! My EOS7D could not display ANY images. I then started looking for data recovery companies that specialised in CompactFlash data retrieval. I rang a company here in Australia who mentioned they had a 50/50 success rate and the entire process would take 10 days. The gentleman on the other end of the phone asked what CF card I was using. I mentioned it was a Sandisk Extreme IV 8GB. He proceeds to tell me there was a batch of this exact card prone to major failure - my heart sunk!! I don't think my wife has ever seen me in such a hysterical and distressed state! That very evening I came across several internet reviews that raved about a company called Recoverfab based in Germany. I opened a new case and received my login details almost immediately. Initially reluctant to send my CF card in the post I utilised Australia Post's EMS International Express delivery service since it offered tracking. I sent the card on Friday 26th September and received an email from Leopold that my card arrived Thursday 2nd October. On October 4 I received a subsequent email to say that 177 images had been rescued!! I then logged into my account on recoverfab's website and went to the service area to preview approx. 100 photos. I was gob-smacked!! I am now in the process of arranging payment (approx. 170EURO) whereupon Leopold will save all data on a SD card and mail it to me. There is an option to download the images direct from his server which can save someone approx. $40AUD (not a bad option if you're only downloading a handful of photos; not so good if the images are large in size and you have a vast quantity). For anyone second guessing whether to send their damaged card to recoverfab, please do, Mr Leopold Hiersche has been a saviour! Richard M (Adelaide, South Australia).

Postings in this forum led me to a solution for a problem I encountered recently. About three weeks ago we were in Arizona on a vacation. The weather was perfect, the scenery was magical, and I tried to capture everything with my camera knowing fully well that the 16GB SD card can accommodate the load. I was quite excited to see how they turned out when I came back home and started downloading the pictures to my computer. Imagine my disappointment when the computer stopped downloading after a few pictures were transferred. The computer had disconnected the SD card drive by itself for some reason. It had never happened before. I tried to read the SD card from different card reader and also on a different computer. Nothing worked. I could see some of the pictures on the LCD screen of the camera, but even there I started seeing the message 'Unable to Display'. During the vacation, I had seen many of the pictures on the camera itself and I knew that they had come out alright. I noticed online some information about a software that could be of help in such situations. But since the SD card could not be seen as a drive when inserted in my PC, this option was not viable. That is when I came across this forum and the messages about Recoverfab. I looked at the information on the website of Recoverfab and immediately submitted the information about my SD card problem. As per instructions, I mailed the SD card to Dresden, Germany. It took about a week to reach Recoverfab, but Leopold Hiersche was very prompt in acknowledging the receipt of the card through email. This morning I woke up to see another email from him about the outcome of the recovery project. Nearly 75% (463 out of 612) of the pictures and videos have been recovered. The preview of the thumbnail pictures he had sent looks great and I am eagerly looking forward to the high resolution pictures that will be sent by FTP soon. I am extremely happy with the prompt and professional service that Recoverfab offered. Without this, my vacation would have been only in memory! I still don't know what was the cause of this problem with the SD card. Leopold says that there was some unrecoverable bit errors that prevented the full recovery of all pictures. I certainly recommend Recoverfab to anyone having problems accessing pictures from memory cards.

Sincerely,
Murali
