Hello everyone,

this is going to be my first PC. To be honest, I got this build from another suggestion I found while crawling around the forum. I was just wondering if this build would allow future upgrades in the coming years. Of course, if you guys have some suggestions to the build, I would love to hear them. I would still like to remain in the 500-600$ range, excluding the monitor.

total: 785$ - 65$ mail-in rebate
around 720$?

Also, I have been a big user of intel CPUs. I have heard that AMD is pretty good and is a bit cheaper. All I really want to do is play games like Starcraft II, Fallout 3/New Vegas, Mass Effect 1/2.

Will this be enough...?

Thanks guys C:
[edit]: got the gigabyte 790GX mobo, upgraded GPU ram to 1gb, please check if my revisions will still work :3

u got a good build there.... but that mobo is good but a gen old and biostar is meh

id look for a GIGABITE or Asus mobo the 790gx of 890gx....

also for ULTRA a 768mb might do it but to be safe a 1gb 460 would be better

though for the build you are going id recommend and ATI card so you can crossfire later on ill look through some deals to save you some $ otherwise build looks good

and yes AMD is better bang for the buck

IMO this is the categorie where amd and intel converge when it comes to gaming bang for buck. Lower amd wins and higher intel wins.

I'd stick to amd though given the cost of an intel board.

I'm pretty sure that will max out the games you mentioned as I've maxed them all with my 470 easily which isn't that much better.

I would however upgrade the mobo and gpu. The gpu to a 1gb 460gtx and the mobo to something a bit more gaming oriented.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814162055 this gpu costs 200 and is a good 20% orso faster.

personally I'd get this one which is extremly fast for 210 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127518

depends on the specs of the new 6k series and their prices and how they affect other prices....

if rumors are true an 6850 would be a good buy as its rumored to be around 200-250$ or so and its better then a 5850.....so well have to wait and see what happens

Rumors are rarely true. If you can wait and see otherwise you can't go wrong with a 460. 6xxx series are just a refresh anyways fermi(which powers a 460) is actually newer and more revolutionary than what you'll see in the new ati cards.
