Memok! light on and only shows 3 gb installed in windows

Hello, I recently build a new computer with a M4A88T-V motherboard and 16 gb of corsair memory. When i turn on my computer the memok! light comes on and Windows 7 ultimate shows 16gb installed but only 3.5gb available what is wrong? and what can i do to fix it?

Are you running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit Edition?

32 Bit Operating Systems (e.g. XP, Vista 23bit, 7 32bit) can only use ~3GB of RAM.

What "Corsair memory" are you using? Did you mix up sticks with different models/latencies/voltages? Cause mixing up can cause compatibility issues and so light on the MemOK! led.

For the 3.5GB issue for sure you are using a 32-bit system. That's the exact amount of memory those systems can handle.
