Should i keep 8400gs 512mb or put it on another computer?

i have a asus en8400gs 512mb card.i'm going to buy a new graphics card gtx 460.should i keep two of them or not?
can i put two graphics card of different model not in sli.
like GTX 460 and 8400GS
does it lower my perfomence?

Hello,

No, this is not possible as far i am aware of. If it would be possible, the GTX460 would scale to the lowest card, the 8400 thus giving away your peformance.

That won't be possible, in order for regular SLI to work you'll need the exact same GPU. With the exception of the 9800 GTX+/GTS 250, as they are both the same card. I don't think the 8400 GS supports SLI either.

It doenst have to. The reason they made it like this way is that the extra card will run only for PsyX and the other card will do the heavy work. But most of the Nvidia single card series already have PsyX on board.

It's just a marketing trick.

Its entirely possible to use the GTS250 for physx, I know Trubdy44 uses 4 GTX480's in SLI with a GTS250 for physx on his mega build on youtube.

Does this mean that if we put these cards,physx work will be done by the low power card and the gpu tasks to high power card.

8400 GS does not support PhysX, need an 8600GT or higher... so no, the card is useless once you upgrade.
